October 31st, 2017 marks 500 years since German monk, Martin Luther, posted his 95 theses to the Castle Church door in Wittenberg, Germany. To coincide with this anniversary Graham Library’s newest exhibit, Richard Hooker & the Reformation, showcases the works of Richard Hooker, 16th century Anglican Theologian, in the context of the Protestant Reformation across Europe and England.

Graham Library holds a significant number of early editions of Hooker’s works in our Rare and Special Collections, including the 1593 first edition of his most famous work Of the Lawes of Ecclesiasticall Politie. The exhibit also includes early editions of works by other English reformers like John Jewel, John Whitgift, and Myles Coverdale.

The exhibit will run from June-December 2017 in Graham Library, on the lower level floor in the exhibit cases of the Saunderson Rare Books Room.
